Art Deco as a movement was known for creating its own hardware, and Khosla certainly took delight in that. The open balcony is held up by twin columns with Ionic capitals, and the art deco grill has been restored to its original glory. ![]() Walking ahead from the foyer, one comes upon a mirrored partition that opens into the dining space, panelled with a similar ribbed effect. The entrance foyer opens with a minimal floor pattern and a subtly fluted oak backdrop, which tucks away a closet space. The designer has been ingenious with space and flow. Three glass and brass handi pendants inject old world glamour into the space. The most striking features is the black and white harlequin flooring that makes a lasting impact. In fact, this space is the spine of the home, as Amarnathan describes it, leading to areas like the nursery, kitchen and living room. The entry passage would have you think you're entering a colonial club. A largely neutral palette with greys and pastels was selected while the material palette included a classic mix of white marble, brass accents and wood. And so the team at Weespaces, led by Amarnathan, and including Design Assistant, Lavanya Chopra got to work. It was smaller compared to most Bengaluru homes, which made it a pretty challenging project. Talking about her first impression, Vinithra Amarnathan, principal designer and founder at Weespaces, shares, "When I first walked through the door, what struck me first was that it was a home with character and the context offered the opportunity of creating a transformative change.
